The State Grid Corporation of China has cumulatively completed and put into operation “14 AC and 12 direct” UHV transmission projects, “3 direct” UHV transmission projects are under construction, and are in operation and under construction 29 The length of the UHV transmission project reaches 41,000 kilometers, the power transformation (conversion) capacity exceeds 440 million kilowatts (kilowatts), and the cumulative power transmission exceeds 1.6 trillion kilowatt-hours. my country has not only made a comprehensive breakthrough in UHV technology, built a complete UHV test and research system, but also took the lead in establishing a complete technical standard system, independently developed a complete set of UHV equipment, and realized the transition from manufacturing in China to creation in China to Leapfrogging development led by China.

A number of key projects are proceeding in an orderly manner. The Yazhong-Jiangxi ±800 kV UHV DC project is fully connected; “seven crosses and two straights” (Nanchang-Changsha, Jingmen-Wuhan, Wuhu Station Expansion, Jinbei Station Expansion, Jinzhong Station Expansion, Beijing East Station Expansion, Huineng Changtan Power Plant sent out AC, and Baihetan-Jiangsu, Fujian-Guangdong Interconnection DC) project was approved; “Three-pass has been” (Nanyang-Jingmen-Changsha, Zhumadian-Wuhan, Fuzhou-Xiamen AC, Baihetan-Zhejiang DC) project completed feasibility study ; “Three straights” (Longdong-Shandong, Jinshang-Hubei, Hami North-Chongqing) project completed pre-feasibility study。

 

We will promote the construction of distribution networks. We continued to increase investment in the construction of power distribution networks, and increased the proportion of investment in power grid infrastructure from 47% to 58%. Weak connections in county power grids were basically eliminated, and the coverage of power distribution automation reached 90 percent. Establish a vertical distribution network regulation management organization and system standard system. The coverage of the integrated dispatching automation system of the main distribution system reached 70%, the observable rate of distribution network equipment increased from less than 5% to 70%, and the construction of the command platform for emergency repair of distribution network was completed in an all-round way. Smart electricity meters have basically covered all areas, 200 million kw of clean energy installations have been installed, and more than 1 million charging piles for electric vehicles have been installed, fully meeting the electricity demand of all types of consumers.

 

A new round of rural power grid upgrading has been completed one year ahead of schedule, and power grid construction has been completed on schedule in the three regions and three prefectures as well as in 381 poverty-stricken counties at the national level, and power grids have been upgraded in 580 villages in border areas. High-quality completion of “coal to electricity”, winter Olympics supporting all kinds of distribution network construction tasks. The project to improve the reliability of power supply from urban distribution networks and the project to improve the reliability management of power supply from county-level distribution networks has been carried out, and world-class urban distribution networks have been built in 10 core cities, including Nanjing and Hangzhou, with significant improvements in the quality and capacity of power supply. We will promote coordinated development of power grids at all levels. We continued to improve regional main grids, with uHV main grids basically in place in north and east China, uHV main grids accelerating in central China, continuous optimization in northeast and northwest China, and independent synchronous power grids forming in Sichuan, Chongqing and Tibet in southwest China。

 

The energy and resource allocation capacity of the power grid continued to improve. The air pollution prevention and control initiatives, such as the Four-link, four-link, and four-link direct transmission lines, and the Jiuquan-Hunan, Eastern Zhungdong-Southern Anhui, and Zalut-Qingzhou direct transmission lines, were put into operation. Progress was accelerated on the five-link, five-link and five-link ultra-high voltage project to strengthen weak links in the national infrastructure sector, and the cross-provincial and cross-regional power transmission capacity increased to 230 million kw. In 2020, construction will start on 52,000 km of lines with 110 kv or above, with a capacity of 340 million kVA, and put into operation 53,000 km, 300 million kVA. Improve the power grid planning and management system, establish a four-level planning and management system of “headquarters, branch, provincial company, prefecture (county) company”, and build a power grid planning simulation computing platform.
